My name is Frederic Kitengie and this is my story. I was born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa however my nationality is Congolese (DR) I have 3 siblings and I am the second youngest. We were brought up in a football family and it’s kind of hereditary that everyone in my family has or still plays football. It feels like it has been passed down to me. Football has been a huge part of my life already and at the age of 17, my dream is to one day become a football manager.
Life hasn’t always been easy especially the fact that I don’t live with my mother and father and if I’m blessed, I get to see them at least once a year. I’ve become used to this as I have two amazing people who look after me and I look up to them. My aunt basically taught me how to read and write and always put her 4 nephews before her. My uncle, on the other hand, is a bit skeptical, nevertheless, he always ensures that everyone in the family is happy and kept at peace.
Everyone’s family is different and the fact that I am lucky enough to say “I have a family” makes me feel so grateful.
